| Van den Bergh moved in May 2006 to the United States Major League Soccer. He has signed a 2,5 year contract at Kansas City Wizards.
Playing one season for the Wizards, he was transferred to New York to play for the Red Bulls. After 55 matches (scoring 9 goals) Red Bull New York traded van den Bergh to FC Dallas on January 12, 2009 for forward Dominic Oduro and FC Dallass second-round pick (selection #18) in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft. Dave van den Bergh was during his period in the USA regarded as one of the top left-sided midfielders in MLS. At the end of December 2009 Dave van den Bergh retired from professional football. As of September 2010 he is currently scout for the American soccer association in the Texas region. | |
