Utility man Frank van Eijs had left in April 2001 FC Dundee after failing to secure a first-team place that season. Van Eijs his 2-year contract was not renewed after he was ignored all the 2000-2001 season by player-manager Ivano Bonetti. He has made just 17 appearances for Dundee the season. Van Eijs was signed in July 1999 from FC Vinkenslag after earlier experience abroad with Racing Club Mechelen and Oxford United. Frank van Eijs also played Dutch futsal at a high level. After his short period at Top Oss, Van Eijs had an unsuccessfull spell in China. He returned in 2004 to Germany signing for SV Meppen, playing in the Oberliga Niedersachsen. After one season, he surprisingly went on trial to Mohun Bagan AC in India. However, both parties did not came to a contract. He signed until June 2005 at Borussia Freialdenhoven acting in the German Oberliga Nordrhein.

Because of a clause in his contract, he tried his luck in South-East Asia again by signing for Vietnamese capital club LG Hanoi ACB in January 2005.

In March 2005 came the news that Van Eijs will move to the New Zealand Knights. The Knights are formerly known as Auckland Kingz and play in the Australian A-league.

Frank van Eijs struggled with injuries in his first season. In October 2006, he decided to quit the club because of a lack of game time.

He retired but still plays at amateur level in the Netherlands with FC Vinkenslag
