| The under-21 international was born in Ghana but moved to the Netherlands as a youngster and played for three Dutch clubs before moving to Spain s Levante in June 2005.
Riga was one of a number of players forced to protest at Levante s failure to pay them in the 2007/2008 season. At the end of July 2008 Bolton signed Dutch winger Mustapha Riga on a three-year deal, subject to international clearance. Riga s opportunities have been limited during his first season at Bolton with an ankle injury sustained in November 2008 halting his progress. He started just 2 matches (and played 15 as a sub), scoring no goals. In January 2011, Bolton Wanderers have confirmed that Dutch forward Riga Mustapha has left the club by mutual consent. The 29-year-old made just 22 appearances for the Reebok Stadium club after arriving in 2008. Spanish segunda division club FC Cartagena has signed the Dutch striker on a free transfer. Riga was signed at the end of March 2011 until the end of the 2010-11 season. His stay at Cartagena was without goals and he left the club at the end of the season. | |
