With his début in March 2009, he impressed his coach with his qualities that the option in his contract for another season was confirmed. Martis was under contract until 2010 at WBA. He appeared 13 times for WBA en scored twice. However at the end of the winter transfer period, he was keen on moving to his former club Doncaster Rovers on a permanent deal.
