| Mike Havenaar is the son of former Dutch goalkeeper Dido Havenaar. His father Dido also had a foreign career and stayed abroad after his career in Japan was over. Mike Havenaar played for the Japan U19 national team and was also in the Worldcup selection.
He developed as player at the Yokohama Marinos. Havenaar has signed in February 2008 a 1-year loancontract until the end of January 2009 at Japanese club Avispa Fukuoka. He returned at the Marinos but was later on send on another loan period at Sagan Tosu for the 2009 season. Sagan Tosu plays in the Japanese second division. From 2010 to 2011 Havenaar played at Ventforet Kofu. In December 2011 he was captured by Dutch ambitious club Vitesse Arnhem. The striker was signed on a 2,5 year contract until 2014. Mike Havenaar is currently representing Japan at international senior level. | |
