| After released by his former club FC Volendam, Aafjes signed a 2-year contract until June 2009 at the Scottish club. He completed his move thanks to a successful trial.
Although Falkirk wanted to extend the contract, Gerard Aafjes was unable to commit to returning to Scotland at this stage due to family circumstances in Holland. He returned home signing a 2-year contract at MVV Maastricht at the end of June 2009. At the end of the contract in Maastricht, he moved to FC Zwolle to sign a 3-year contract until 2014. Since the 2012-13 season, FC Zwolle is renamed to PEC Zwolle. | |
