| After expiration of his contract at Feyenoord Rotterdam, Luigi Bruins became available on a free transfer in summer 2011. In October 2011 he find himself a new club and signed for the rest of the 2011-12 season for Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. The club is coached by Dutch coach Ricardo Moniz.
Bruins cancelled his contract already within three months. He just managed to play three matches in Austria. In March 2012 Bruins rejoined his former club Excelsior Rotterdam for the rest of the 2011-12 season to help the club preventing relegation. Already after two months he failed and he has left the club looking for opportunities elsewhere. In summer 2012 Bruins did a trial at French club Olympique de Nice. He was not offered a contract before the end of the transfer period although they were satisfied with the midfielder. Bruins was without contract for the rest of the year. Finally in January 2013, Nice tried again and Bruins signed a 1,5 year contract until June 2014 in France. | |
