Wilko de Vogt played abroad in England at Sheffield United for two seasons. He was most times the stand-in and played just six competition matches in England. He returned to the Netherlands in the winterbreak of 2002-03. Spells at RBC and RKC followed and the goalkeeper was under contract at FC Oss until 2010.

At the end of the 2009-10 season, Oss relegated to the third division, but De Vogt moved to Dutch champions FC Twente as third goalkeeper for the 2010-11 season. In the 2011-12 season he was the goalkeeper of VVV Venlo. His contract was not extended at the end of the season, and he left the club on a free transfer.

De Vogt rejoined NAC Breda in his hometown for the 2012-13 season as cover for first choice Ten Rouwelaar. In the first half of the season he was used as third choice and became unhappy. At the end of January 2013 he decided to leave the club and retired from professional football.
