Regi Blinker started his professional career at Feyenoord. In the 1998-89 season he signed a loan deal at FC Den Bosch and returned back to Rotterdam afterwards. Blinker was one of the key players in the Rotterdam selection and won four Cups and one championship with the club. In the mid season break of 1995-96 he moved abroad and joined Sheffield Wednesday. In summer 1997 Blinker moved to Scottish Celtic and played abroad until 2000. During his Wednesday and Celtic time, he played a lot of matches but has not made a big impact.

In 2000 he returned home and played a season for RBC Roosendaal. Regi Blinker retired in the summer of 2003 after his contract at Sparta after two seasons ended.

After his retirement, Blinker played a while for the amateurs of Deltasport and s.v. Wippolder in Delft. He was coaching young talented players at Lafor Soccer Consultancy and started his own company in life style, Life After Football.
