In August 2007, Olfers went abroad signing a 1-year contract at the Danish club Aalborg with an option for another two years.

He developed into a regular first team player, playing 35 matches in 2008-09. However his contract was not extended and he was released in July 2009.

Since September 2009 Olfers was keeping up his fitness at PSV Eindhoven, training at the Reserves. In February 2010 the club confirmed his good fitness with an amateur contract. At the end of the 2009-10 season, he was not featuring in the plans of the head coach of PSV and decided to find a new contract elsewhere and left the club.

Just before the closing of the transfer market, he moved abroad again. Olfers has signed a 2-year contract at Azerbaijan club FC Gabala which was coached by Englishman and former Arsenal defender, Tony Adams. In summer 2012 his contract ended and he is available on a free transfer after playing for two seasons in Azerbaijan.

After a trial Olfers joined Dutch second tier club Telstar for the 2014-15 season. Olfers decided not to let his contract renew, hoping for a better offer at another club. He moved at the end of the year to the amateurs of ASV de Dijk.
