Current club:Retired
Former club(s):Helsingborgs IF (Swe), Wigan Athletic (Eng), NEC Nijmegen, Wigan Athletic (Eng), Sparta Rotterdam, SVV/SMC
Bouaouzan became a well-known player in his Sparta period. He came badly in the news because of a heavy charge at Niels Kokmeijer who became too injured to ever play football again. He was even sentenced to a conditional 6-months prison.

Rachid Bouaouzan signed a 3-year contract with Wigan Athletic in August 2007. The transfer fee was rumoured to be in the region of 300,000. He made his first and thus far only appearance for the club when he came on as a substitute in a League Cup tie with Notts County on 26 August 2008.

After one season in England with a minimum of chances he returned home on a loan-deal at NEC Nijmegen until June 2009. After some disputes because of unprofessional behaviour with manager Mario Been, he was send back before the end of his loan period in April 2009.

Also his third season was disastrous and he did not feature in any Wigan match. In April 2010 he was send on loan for the rest of his contract to Swedish club Helsingborgs. His Wigan contract expired in June 2010 and he was available on a free transfer. Helsingborgs decided to get the midfielder back and contracted the former Holland U21 international until December 2013.

In October 2013, just a few months before expiration of his contract, Bouaouzan was released from his contract due to disciplinary problems. Bouaouzan retired from professional football. In the 2015-16 season he played on an amateur level for GLZ Delfshaven.
