Former PSV youth product Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has signed a contract until 2013 at Spanish giants Real Madrid. His club Ajax and Real Madrid confirmed the transfer in the beginning of December 2008 after a lot of rumours. The contract is worth between the 20 and 27M€ depending on performances. Huntelaar has joined the Dutch legion at Madrid being the sixth Dutchman. His transfer was hurried because of a bad injury from fellow striker Van Nistelrooy who went out for the rest of the season.
After a presidential change, the Spanish club signed a lot of new players and Huntelaar was not given a fair chance for the new 2009-10 season. Italian giants AC Milan signed the Dutch striker on a 4-year contract until 2013 in August 2009. After another season at a giant club with minimal chances, Huntelaar moved to Germany. With a transfer fee around the 13 M€ the Dutch international has signed a 3-year contract at Schalke 04. After successful years, winning the German cup in 2012 and being the top scorer of the Bundesliga he returned home in June 2017 when his contract expired. Huntelaar signed a one year contract at his former club Ajax. He is currently under contract in Amsterdam until June 2020. | |
