FC Utrecht youth product Bas van den Brink moved abroad Down Under in June 2009. He signed a 2-year contract until March 2011. Also former PSV player Jason Culina joined Gold Coast United in 2009.

After two successful seasons, he moved to South Korean Busan l Park after the expiration of his contract in Australia. In May 2011 his contract was cancelled after six weeks of playing in Korea. Van den Brink could not get used to the Korean culture and felt home sick.

In June 2011 Van den Brink rejoined the Australian league in signing a 2-year contract at Perth Glory until the end of the 2012 season. In January 2013 he became a free agent and was in the move for signing a contract at Indian club Churchill Brothers SC. However the deal collapsed and Van den Brink without finding a new club, was keeping up his fitness at the FC Utrecht reserves. In the 2013-14 season he signed a contract at the semi-professional Topklasse club IJsselmeervogels.

Bas van den Brink retired as player from professional football in January 2014. He continued his career in football as player representative.
