Moestafa el Kabir went to Swedish Mjällby AIF in March 2010. He made his debut for NEC Nijmegen in the 2008-09 season after playing in the youth of Ajax, FC Utrecht and NEC.

In April 2011 he announced a departure in the summer to Italy. El Kabir signed a 4-year contract at Cagliari until the end of June 2015. His first season was a loan deal and the Italians had the opportunity to make it a permanent deal until 2015. However after a brilliant debut with a goal, El Kabir suffered from injuries and his Italian season was not successful. Cagliari decided not to use the option and El Kabir returned to Sweden.

In January 2013, El Kabir moved to Swedish outfit Häcken BK where he signed a 3-year contract. After one and a half season, he has left Sweden. He moved to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Ahli on a 2-year contract. In February 2015 he moved to Turkey to sign for 2,5 season at Genclerbirligi from the capital of Ankara.

In July 2016 El Kabir moved to Japan and signed a two-year contract at Sagan Tosu. After a half year he moved to Turkey to sign a contract until 2019 at Antalyaspor.
