Highly talented striker Luc Castaignos moved in summer 2011 to Internazionale. He signed in March 2011 a 4-year contract. Castaignos is a product from the Feyenoord youth academy and made his international debut so far in the Holland U17, U19, and U21 teams.

After just six matches and one goal in the Serie A for Inter, FC Twente offered Castaignos a contract to seal his return home. Internazionale agreed the deal and Castaignos signed a 4-year contract until June 2016 worth around the 6 ME.

During the 2014-15 season, FC Twente suffered from financial problems and was keen to sell their top players. Striker Castaignos moved away to Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany on a 3-year contract and a 3ME fee.

In August 2016 Luc Castaignos moved to Portugal to sign a 3-year contract at Sporting Lissabon for a transfer fee around 2.5ME. For the 2017-18 season he was send on loan home to Vitesse Arnhem.

In the first half of the 2018-19 season back at Sporting, he was not able to find himself in form again and Castaignos was released from his contract in February 2019 in mutual consent. He found himself a new club in South Korean Gyeongnam FC.
