Dutch international striker Luuk de Jong moved abroad in summer 2012. He signed a 5-year contract at German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach for a record fee of 15ME. In January 2014, he moved to England to sign for Newcastle on loan until the end of the season.

In summer 2014 he returned home signing a 5-year contract at PSV Eindhoven. His spell at Eindhoven immediately became successful. Luuk de Jong won the championship with PSV in 2015. In 2016 he even became top scorer of the team after winning the Dutch league for the second time. In July 2019 the captain of the PSV squad has left the club and signed for another foreign adventure. After several interests abroad he decided to sign a 4 year contract at Spanish giants Sevilla FC on a 12,5ME transferfee. The striker narrowly ended the 2018-19 season without the championship trophy but with the top striker title.

Luuk his brother Siem is also playing professional football and moved to Newcastle from Ajax in the same month as Luuk moved to Germany.
