Kevin Diks Bakarbessy signed a 5-year contract at Fiorentina in July 2016. It was the first time the defender, only 19 years old, from Apeldoorn moved abroad. In first half of the season, he just played two matches in the Serie A. In January 2017 it was decided to return on loan to his former club Vitesse for the rest of the season. With Vitesse he won the Dutch Cup. At the end of the season another loan period was agreed with his Italian club. League winner Feyenoord signed the youngster on a season deal.
In summer 2018 he returned to Italy looking for new opportunities. In the first half of the season, he did not play any Serie A match and for the second half Diks was send on loan to Empoli to get more playing opportunities. From 2019-21 he went on another loan deal but this time in Denmark at Aarhus. After expiration of his Fiorentina contract, former Holland U21 defender Diks made a permanent transfer to FC Copenhagen in Denmark. |
