Former Feyenoord youth-player Jordy Buijs moved abroad on a free transfer and signed a one-year contract at Pandurii Tārgu Jiu, the number 3 in the Romanian league in the 2015-16 season. His Romanian experience last until January 2017 when he signed until the summer for Australian side Sydney FC.

He participated with the Netherlands under 17 squad at the 2005 under 17 European Championships, where the Dutch reached the final. Buijs provided the assist for the winning goal in the semi final against Italy. He also took part with the same team at the Under 17 World Championships in Peru where they became third.

In July 2018 Buijs tried his luck in Japan. He moved from Sydney to Nagasaki and signed a contract until the end of 2019 in the Japanese J1 League. In January 2019 he moved on a loan deal for the rest of his contract to J2 club Tokushima Vortis. Buijs is currently in Japan playing at Kyoto Sanga (J2).
