Arnaut Danjuma Groeneveld was a product of the PSV youth academy. However he was not able to climb up the ranks to the first team and tried his luck at NEC Nijmegen in 2016. After two seasons at NEC he made impact and Belgian giants Club Brugge was keen to sign the prolific winger. In July 2018 he signed a 4-year contract on a 1ME transferfee. Danjuma, born in Nigeria, immediately made impact in the highest Belgian league and after call-ups for the Holland U21 squad in March 2018, he was also selected for the A team of Ronald Koeman. In October 2018 the winger made his debut in the match against Germany.
At the end of a good season in Belgium, the player attracted other foreign clubs and Bournemouth paid a 12ME fee to Brugge to sign the talented player for a move to England. He continued his good results and after two seasons, Spanish club Villarreal signed the winger on a 15ME fee on a 5-year deal until 2026. In the second half of the 2022-23 season he went on a loan deal back to England, at Tottenham Hotspur. |
